Earthquake drill at Grandmedical
Manisa Private Grandmedical Hospital carried out an earthquake drill as part of the preparatory work it carried out before possible natural disasters. In the exercise, in which the physicians and dozens of employees participated in the hospital, the activities to be carried out during the earthquake were revived, and emergency treatment was given to the injured who were under the rubble.
It is stated that a serious earthquake that may occur in Manisa, one of the most important earthquake regions of Turkey, may cause many deaths and injuries. Hospitals, which take on very important tasks after natural disasters, need to be able to provide the best service in a calm and organized manner in case of earthquakes. Manisa Grandmedical Hospital, carrying out its preparations within this framework, conducted an exercise on the assumption that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 was experienced in the region. Hospital Disaster and Emergency Plan (HAP) President and Infectious Diseases Specialist Dr. Hospital Manager Mehmet Başaran, Nursing Services Manager Gift Gördes and many health workers took part in the exercise led by Mustafa Gülenç.
SAHRA HOSPITAL ESTABLISHED IN THE GARDEN
In the exercise, which started with the sound of the siren, the team first gathered in the emergency management room. Disaster and Emergency Management Director, who received information about the condition of the building by radio from the personnel working in various parts of the hospital building, was informed about the location and severity of the earthquake, the number of injured people who could come to the hospital and the emergency preparations to be made. Then, the work continued in the field hospital, which was created in the hospital garden.
EMERGENCY INTERVENTION HAS BEEN MADE TO THE INJURED
While the patients and personnel who were injured during the earthquake were brought to the intervention area in the garden with the help of health workers, the injured from different regions were brought to the field hospital by ambulances. The hospital workers, who were given the appearance of being injured with make-up, were given an emergency response by the paramedics. Some citizens in the hospital garden watched the exercise, which does not look like the truth, with interest. Hospital Chief Op. Dr. Mümtaz Kahya thanked all employees for the successful exercise.
