Our hospital is a certified Baby Friendly Hospital. In this context, we have successful breastfeeding policies that we carry out and implement.
- We have a written breastfeeding policy at our hospital. All relevant health personnel are trained regularly in line with this policy, and their support is provided for breastfeeding.
- Our hospital implements the policy of "Nutrition with Breast Milk" in infant feeding.
- To all pregnant women and mothers who receive service in our hospital; Information is given about breast milk and the importance of breastfeeding.
- Unless there is a medical need; All babies born in our center are fed only with breast milk. Mothers and other family members are trained not to give pacifiers, bottles and solid foods to breastfed babies.
- Babies are breastfed under the supervision of a nurse in the first half / 1 hour after birth. Practical support continues to be provided to the mother until appropriate breastfeeding occurs.
- It is ensured that the mother and baby stay in the same room for 24 hours in a way that can easily provide visual-sensory contact. They are not allowed to stay apart unless there is a medical need.
- When mothers have to be separated from their babies; mothers are informed about how to continue breastfeeding with breast milk, and milking techniques are taught.
- In our center, there are breastfeeding rooms where mothers can breastfeed their babies comfortably.
- After the sixth month, mothers are encouraged to breastfeed their babies until the age of 2 by adding appropriate additional food.
- It is recommended that mothers breastfeed their babies as often and for as long as the baby wants. In order for them to continue breastfeeding even after they are discharged from our center, information is given verbally and in writing (breastmilk and breastfeeding handbook) about the importance of breast milk and breastfeeding, breastfeeding and the problems they may encounter. Continuity of breastfeeding is ensured by regular polyclinic controls after discharge.
